Tokoz PRO400 Version 2024: The stainless steel disc cylinder.

What is the Tokoz PRO 400?

Today we’re talking about the Tokoz PRO400, the top-of-the-range cylinder produced by the Czech manufacturer. This type of product is gaining in popularity on the European and Italian markets.

The Tokoz PRO 400 has a modular body, created with inserts that stack on top of each other, to protect against breakage there’s a steel bar that’s riveted to the cylinder body, this technology allows really long cylinder dimensions.

Its internal mechanism is made entirely of STAINLESS STEEL, with discs that create a unique combination. Inside is a single active pin that acts as a step counter and prevents key extraction during rotation. The encryption compartment is inserted into the key insert from the rear, giving the cylinder excellent protection against extraction. To protect the bore, there’s a hardened steel washer that acts as a defender for the internal cipher. The front of the body is also in hardened steel, with a thickness of almost 5 mm. When you insert the wrench, a quarter-turn is made to align the discs, and only if the wrench is the right one will it engage the bar that allows the cam to turn. Another feature of this product is that the discs, combined with their thickness, make the keyway a single body.

The PRO 300 key is made of ALPACCA, a light, resistant material. This new key has replaced the old brass one, which was too flexible and caused breakage.

The key is flat and SIMMETRIC. This feature makes the key reversible; its shape is reminiscent of the old double-bitted key technology. Of course, its disk system is much more secure, because at the end of the rotation, the cylinder only allows the key to be removed after resetting the encryption by forcing a quarter-turn before extracting the key.

Its ASYMMETRIC head provides an excellent grip when turning, and thanks to the small number of pins and springs inside the cylinder, key insertion is very easy. The length of the key neck is approximately 16 mm, making the cylinder compatible with 90% of magnetic or mechanical protectors.

Even if made of hard metal and equipped with an anti-puncture and anti-shattering system, this product should always be combined with a magnetic or mechanical protector.

Equipped with a stainless steel disc mechanism, a slight friction will be felt during rotation due to the friction of the various discs.

If, prior to this product, you had a cylinder with spring-and-pin technology, you may find the problem of resetting the encryption annoying, as once the process of opening/closing the lock is complete, you are obliged to reset the key.
