Tokoz PRO300 version 2024: stainless steel disc technology

Today we’re talking about a security cylinder with disc technology, more specifically the PRO 300, manufactured in the Czech Republic by a little-known company in the security sector, Tokoz. The PRO 300 is the Czech brand’s low-cost line, offering a good level of security at an affordable price.

The Tokoz PRO 300 has a modular zinc alloy body, with a clamping protection riveted directly onto the key insert, and extension modules designed to fit together to ensure stability (even with very long sizes).

Its internal mechanism is made entirely of STAINLESS STEEL, with discs that form a unique combination. Inside is a single active pin which acts as a step counter and prevents the key from being withdrawn during rotation. The encryption compartment is inserted into the key insert from the rear, offering the cylinder excellent protection against removal. The hole is protected by a hardened steel disk which acts as a shield for the internal encryption. When the key is inserted, the discs are aligned by a quarter turn. Only when the key is the right one does it lock onto the bar, allowing the cam to rotate. Another special feature of this product is that the discs and their washers make the figure a single body.

The key for the PRO 300 is made of ALPACCA, a light, resistant material. This new key has replaced the old brass key, which was too flexible and caused breakage.

The key is flat and symmetrical. This feature makes the key reversible; its shape is reminiscent of the old double-bitted key technology. Of course, its disk system is much more secure, as at the end of the rotation, the cylinder only allows the key to be removed after resetting the cipher by a quarter-turn before removing the key.

The ASYMMETRIC head offers excellent grip when turning, and thanks to the reduced number of pins and springs inside the cylinder, key insertion is very easy. The length of the key neck is approximately 16 mm, making the cylinder compatible with 90% of magnetic or mechanical security devices.

Although this product is made of carbide and offers protection against punctures and splinters, it must always be combined with magnetic or mechanical protection.

The mechanism with stainless steel discs ensures slight friction during rotation, which is created by the friction of the individual discs.

If you had a pin-and-spring cylinder before this product, you may find it annoying to have to reset the coding, because as soon as you open/close the lock, you are obliged to reset the key.
